Heya.. I've been reading lots of Chinese online novels lately and thought I'll try my hand in translating one. This one is quite funny and I've ended up reading it twice with MTL. Thought I'll share it with everyone. English is not my first language and I don't translate from scratch but edited the MTL. So, be kind and hope you enjoy reading it as much as I do. Here's the synopsis below.

Being unemployed sucks!!

Heya!! Decided to create a blog because I was bored. So I was made redundant early last year and I've been unemployed for a year and a half now. Suck I know but I wasn't all bad at first, I went for holiday, visit my family and spend time with my adorable little weiro, ToriKaraage.
But after the initial euphoria of not having to answer anyone or from being able to do what I want and when I want it fades, I found out I am not really cut out for unemployment and stay home all day. I applied for jobs but only rejections after rejections come my way.
It got me thinking, Why are we living in a world where being overqualified is punished by not getting the job? These days people always looking for bargains which emphasised by the birth of many bargain sites like Groupon or Scoopon, etc. Shouldn't those employer treat the overqualified applicants as a bargain? I meant they probably know that they are overqualified and yet still apply anyway. Didn't that show their eagerness and passion to work in that particular role?
Or if we are underqualified, why can't they take it as a fresh mind and perspective that they can train? I can't speak for others but when I know I'm lacking something, it just makes me want to try and learn harder and to prove that I can do it, not just to the employer but to find out more about what I am capable of.
Well I guess I understand that sometimes with hundreds of applications come their way maybe its not possible to do it, but when you ring up to follow up, doesn't that further show your eagerness and determination about the job? Instead of just brushing me off with their flippant "Oh we are still shortlisting at the moment" when I know for a fact that they have called and interviewed people, I would rather they give me straight "Oh yes, unfortunately you are not successful at the moment" then I can ask where I am lacking and go to improve it. Grrr.. just wanting a rant thats all. So, thats the end of my rant for today.
